Quin's tiny drives keep costs down
16th November 2005
The latest addition to the comprehensive and innovative range of motion control products from Quin Systems is the Compact QDrive, a 220/230V single-phase servo drive with advanced DSP digital functionality, which is ideal for use by machine builders requiring compact and exceptionally cost-effective drive solutions.
Capable of supplying up to 4A continuously, Quin's Compact QDrives can be used with virtually any make of AC brushless servomotor, and with almost any type of control system. A particularly attractive option, however is to combine the new drives with the company's recently introduced QControl 2 controller, to produce high-performance, low-cost two-axis systems with full networking capabilities.
Featuring an integral EMC filter to minimise harmonic pollution without the need to use external components, Compact QDrives are ideal for a wide range of applications, including bagging machines, registration control and simple positioning systems.
Quin's new Compact QDrives complement the company's very popular range of Mini QDrives, which has recently been extended to include three-phase 6A and 9A versions, as well as the single-phase 4A model. Unlike their Compact counterparts, Mini QDrives incorporate powerful Quin Programmable Transmission System (PTS) motion controllers, making them a complete integrated solution for smaller applications.
Mini QDrives also have a CANbus interface, which provides full synchronisation with other QDrives or compatible modules, as well as on-board digital and analogue I/O, two serial ports and a Modbus interface option.
