One of the most powerful techniques within
the Quin range of motion controllers is mapping.
This technique allows servomotors to be synchronised
together with greater flexibility and higher
accuracy than a traditional mechanical transmission.
The example given here is based on a wrapping
machine, which is designed to feed a product
into a tube of wrapping material and then
to cut and seal the tube around the product.
It requires three axes to be position synchronised
together using linear and non-linear relationships.
These relationships have been designed with
the Motion Generator.
