Designing mechanisms to produce a specific machine motions can be a long and technically difficult task. The Motion Generator is designed to increase productivity by greatly simplifying this task. The Motion Generator exists as two separate, but fully integrated, programs:

• PTS Toolkit Motion Generator is a PC based, graphical design tool.
• The Motion Generation Engine is an integrated part of the PTS software.

PTS Toolkit’s Motion Generator allows the designer to create the required motion graphically, choosing from a comprehensive list of standard and custom motion laws. It can be used to analyse design changes, check peak velocities and accelerations. When integrated with Camlinks, allows the designer to fully model, test and evaluate a machine prior to construction.

The motion can then be downloaded to the PTS where the Motion Generator Engine will execute the motion exactly as required. The motion can then be modified in the PTS, on the fly, so that the machine can deal with different sized products or product variations.
